Synopsis: In 1920s Copenhagen, Gerda, a painter, asks her husband and fellow artist Einar to stand in for a female model so she can complete her latest painting. Einar is overwhelmed by the experience and begins to question his gender identity, eventually becoming one of the first known recipients of gender reassignment surgery.
